Wedding Bells

This past weekend Otis and I went to the biggest most expensive wedding I have ever been to. Now I have been to quite a few large Italian weddings in my day. There were more flowers in the entry way of the church then I had at my whole wedding.

To start off the wedding was a three day/four meal event. (remember I was not a part of the wedding) The bride is my fathers first cousin. My second cousin.

I could probably could write a book about all the details. Here are some point form breakdowns.

Rehearsal dinner approx. 100 people in attendance.

The Church

  • The church was decorated and packed to the rafters.
  • There were beautiful programs and confetti favours given to all attendees
  • Bride arrived to the church in a horse and carriage, and the 26 Member wedding party left in a limo bus
  • There was a violinist, celloist and soloist at the church
  • After church there was a great lunch provided for all who attended church

The Reception Area

  • We arrived to the hall around 6:00pm and waited in line for the receiving line.
  • The receiving line extended the whole entry way to the hall
  • There was, the carriage she road to the church and there was an Ice sculpture that dispensed cosmos
  • The adult favours were DVDs with an engagement video, the stag video and a slide show of photo's from the two of them growing up.
  • All the children were given a toy for their age group.
The hall

  • The hall was exquisitely decorated. I will let the picture describe it for me.
  • There were five tables set up on the dance floor with hour d' oeuvres. The middle table had a second ice sculpture along with a shrimp cocktail set up.
  • The centre pieces were huge.
  • The cake had six tiers, and the head table was elaborite.

The Dinner

  • All Courses were individually plated
  • Antipasto (During this course Otis pooped through his cute outfit and got poop on Zizi Teresa's dress
  • Two Manicotti, one meat with red sauce and one cheese with cream sauce
  • Stuffed Cornish hen, Wild Rice and Asparagus
  • Lemon Sorbet to clean the pallet
  • Jumbo Shrimp, Scallops, Calamari and Mixed greens
  • Ice Cream crepe with nutella topping
  • Fruit and Chocolate Fondue
  • Pastries
  • Wedding Cake
  • Lets just say that we were eating dinner until 12:05am this is when the DJ started
  • During dinner there were many, many, many speeches
  • The couples first dance, the bride with her father, the groom with his mother and grandmother
  • The great video/slide show. The video was set up in a way so that the couple and family members were interviewed and was edited into the video along with many picture and videos from their four engagement wedding shoots and the Carnival (Stage party).
  • There was also video and pictures that were edited on the spot to be added from the ceremony and the pictures they took in the afternoon.

From what I can figure this wedding cost more then the first house we will buy some day. One of the best parts of the night was that I sat at a table with all of my cousins and we had a great time. I must admit my bum did hurt by the end of the dinner. Otis fell asleep around 9pm and we tucked his stroller in under the table. He slept til 1am. Once he woke up it was far to loud for him to stay so we went off to bed. Don't forget we had to get up early enough to be back at the other hall for the after wedding lunch.
I was a nice afternoon. It was my dad's 18Th wedding anniversary, There were two older men who were playing Italian music at the hall they played the anniversary waltz. Dad and Mar danced we all gathered around them while they danced. When we finally left the hall There was a full dancing event happening.

Have a great Honeymoon a Mike & Santina (Link to couples Web Site)
