Long Weekend X 2

We usually don't have long weekends around here as Dave works Saturdays.  This means we stay in town more often then not, unless Dave takes a vacation day.  We were lucky enough to have an impromptu long weekend the weekend of Mothers day.  Saturday was our free day.  We picked up sandwiches from Vincenzo's and headed to the park for a picnic, visiting the animals and playing on the swing.

Marlo our little drama queen/daredevil loves the swing.  She was actually swinging higher then Otis wanted to go and loving it.  I stopped her to adjust her little body and she lost her mind.  The very moment she started to swing again she began to smile and laugh.  I am so worried about the tantrums she is going to have, especially in public.  We then went to a friends for a B.B.Q.

Mothers day was wonderful.  I got breakfast in bed and manual labour as my gift.  The lawn got mowed, the wood ties were pegged into place for our construction zone/new patio and we also managed to give the main floor a much needed spring clean.

May 24 was a fun weekend too.  Dave was back to his regular work schedule.  A friend came by for the day Saturday as she needed to be out of the house with her small children while her husband worked on their kitchen.  We spent the day outside in the shaded back yard.  The kids had a ball playing.  We hosted our regular Sunday dinner which was yummy as usual.  I also organized a small get together with some of the neighbours, where we all pitched in for the fireworks and brought snacks.  Dave was our pyrotechnic for the evening.  Otis and the others kids had so much fun running around at night and picking out which firework was next.

Monday was our day to recover.  I was under the weather.  So we just hung out for the day and watched some movies.  We even got take out for dinner which is something we are trying to do less of these days.

I hope you all had a wonderful long weekend too!!!!

Happy Mothers Day

Well this is the second time I am writing this post. And Yes it is a day Late. I am having issues with uploading pictures.

I had a great first mothers day yesterday. I woke up to a gift from Dave and Otis. It was a pedicure from the spa across the street. I can't wait I desperately need one. Dave also made me a great dinner last night with a decadent chocolate lava cake for dessert mmmmmmmmm. He also would not let me do anything. I love that Guy.

This pass week Otis and I spent in the Niagara area visiting with family. The week started out with a Shower to welcome Otis. It was a really nice afternoon both sides of my family came. Otis is helping a lot of people get over the passed baggage of life and move forward with love for him. It's been nice not having to juggle as much my dad was welcomed into my mom's house to visit and things were nice after all this time.

He spent the week sleeping in my mom's heated bed, he even slept through the night for the first time. I was able to catch up on some sleep which was great.

Miranda was down from Canmore for the week so we got a lot of visiting in and had some great chats during our nightly Hot Tub Sessions. I was very happy to use the hot tub I had to wait 9 month to use it due to my pregnancy.

Otis also went to Tim Hortons for the first time. We went there to find my Uncle Mario and go figure he was there.

Today Otis is eight weeks old, I can not believe how big he is getting. I spent a lot of this passed week just soaking him in. He has the cutest round head and he is getting a great sense of humour already at such a young age.
