I found these at the side of the road about three years ago. There were five of them. I had Otis in the stroller and my bags from Generations (Second hand store). They were at a small church a few block over. There were folding chairs and a few other things I can't remember. I scooped one under each arm and off I went. They were in perfect condition until one was left to close to the fire last year. They match the fire place and buffet in the living room. I was so excited on my walk home.

New Finds
A few weeks back Otis and I went on our Saturday second hand store adventure.
There are two a couple of blocks away. Second Hand Treasure was having a 50% off everything in the store sale. It was about to explode. There was so much in there.
I had noticed a table in the back corner piled high with encyclopedias the week earlier. It was priced $35. I passed on it that day. I sometimes walk away from things in thrift shops. I have purchased thing impulsively that I shouldn't have. If I think about it again and it is still there the next time then it is meant to be.
I can only think of one time that I regret walking away. There was this amazing modern Gate leg table that would be perfect in this house. At the time I had know Idea we would be in this house and that it would be something I would want for the future. It was only $25. I haven't seen something remotely close for under $500. Grrr.
Back to the new find. The table was still covered in books and I could only see the corner. I decided to take a chance on it. It was only $17.50 after all, who can beat that.
I finally picked the table up a week later. It was nicer then I thought and in excellent condition. Solid walnut with minor scratches. On Sunday we managed to seat 8 people comfortably for dinner at the table.
This table is exactly the style I had been looking for. I had a vision of what I would like to see in here. The only problem was that I didn't want to spend a lot of money to find out that the table didn't fit in the room.
We bought a bunch of other things. 8 pieces of vintage Tupperware orange and brown. Otis also got a new Levi's cord jacket. The birds in our backyard also got some new digs a dried gourd bird house and a new feeder.
I love when things come together out of the blue.
Next up: What to do about chairs.

Up Cycling
Discover the new trend of "Up Cycling"
I heard this sentence from my television this afternoon. I find this sentence quite funny. Second hand items being used as a trend. Imaging that.
No wonder it has become so difficult to find the gems of yesterday in the secondhand shops of today.
Googled it. Found This
It has a few NEAT ideas!!!!
